On September 13th, 2026, Barcelona played against Levante UD in an away game at the Ciutat de València Stadium. Before the game, Barcelona had an important opportunity to increase their lead in the La Liga table because second-placed Real Madrid had lost their previous game. A win against Levante would allow Barcelona to open a three-point gap over Real Madrid. Barcelona also entered the game with an interesting situation in attack. After failing to sign their main striker target, Julián Álvarez, manager Hansi Flick decided to use Raphinha as a striker. Raphinha, who is normally a winger and is also Barcelona's captain, has adapted very well to the position, scoring 6 goals and providing 3 assists in only 5 games.
In the first half, Barcelona dominated ball possession with 75% of the ball compared to Levante's 25%. However, Levante had more shots than Barcelona, showing that they were still able to create chances despite having less possession. However, Barcelona made most of their chances and scored twice in the first half. In the 5th minute, Xavi Espart opened the scoring after an assist from Raphinha. Then, in the 19th minute, Lamine Yamal doubled Barcelona's lead, with Raphinha providing another assist. In the second half, Barcelona continued to have more possession and also had more shots than Levante. In the 48th minute, Yamal scored his second goal of the game from the penalty spot, making it 3–0. Levante continued to fight back and scored two goals, with Romero scoring in the 79th minute and Brugui scoring in the 88th minute. However, Barcelona secured the victory when Karim Adeyemi scored in the 90+3rd minute, making the final score 4–2.
In conclusion, Barcelona earned three important points and opened a three-point gap over their rival, second-placed Real Madrid. Raphinha has been a key player for Barcelona this season after being moved from his usual winger position to striker, contributing 6 goals and 3 assists in just 5 games. Another player who has been performing very well is Barcelona's new signing Karim Adeyemi. He has already scored 2 goals and provided 1 assist in La Liga, along with 1 goal in the Champions League. With players like Raphinha, Yamal, and Adeyemi performing well, Barcelona are looking like a strong team as the season continues.
