The hit comedy show SNL Korea is returning for Season 8 and has officially revealed four new cast members ahead of its March 28 premiere. Known for its bold humor and strong cultural impact, the show is expected to deliver fresh energy with its latest additions.
The new cast includes Ahn Jumi, Lee Ara, Jung Chang-hwan, and Jung Hee-soo, each bringing distinct talents and personalities. Ahn Jumi, a former child actress, impressed during auditions with her quick wit and strong improvisation skills. Lee Ara, a graduate of the Korea National University of Arts, stands out for her versatility, including English rap, hip-hop, and tap dance. Jung Chang-hwan, trained at the Korean Academy of Film Arts, has built solid acting experience through projects such as Gyeongseong Creature. Meanwhile, Jung Hee-soo has already gained popularity on YouTube through the viral “Heesu-hyung” persona, a comedic “big brother” character.
Over the years, SNL Korea has established itself as a major launching platform for rising stars, launching talents such as Joo Hyun-young, Kim Ah-young, and Jeong Yu-yeon, all of whom went on to win Best Newcomer awards. Cast members like Ji Ye-eun and Kim Kyu-won have also risen to mainstream popularity through the show.
Season 8 will continue to feature veteran comedians led by Shin Dong-yup, alongside established cast members such as Jung Sang-hoon, Jung Sung-ho, and Ahn Young-mi. The first episode will be hosted by Tak Jae-hun, raising anticipation for strong chemistry between the seasoned performers and the new cast.
With a mix of experience and fresh talent, Season 8 is expected to deliver dynamic performances and possibly introduce the next breakout star in Korean comedy.
