The Korea Soccer Final National Team Roster has announced on 5/16

The final roster consists of 26 players for the upcoming 2026 World Cup. Some players, such as Son Heung-min, Lee Kang-in, Kim Min-jae, Lee Jae-sung, Hwang Hee-chan, and Kim Seung-gyu, were selected for the World Cup roster, as they are usually recruited by Hong Myung-Bo.


Son Heung Min and Kim Seung-gyu have played 4 times in the World Cup with this final roster. Hwang In-beom who was injured and focused on rehabilitation, has been included in the final roster. Another midfielder, Jens Castrop, is selected for the World Cup. Jens Castrop was born between Korean mother and a German father, which means it is the first time mixed race to play in the main tournament. Lee Ki-hyuk is selected for the team, considering his good performance for his club. Hong Myung-bo said that “players can get a lot of good energy at the World Cup.


After confirming the final roster, Korea’s national soccer team went to Salt Lake City to prepare for the World Cup game. The Korean national soccer team will have a friendly match with the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago on May 31 and El Salvador on June 4. After these friendly matches, they will move to Mexico City and Guadalajara. Korea is looking forward to its first group stage game against the Czech Republic.
